Surfing Kincardine

A late nite check of the series of tubes called the internets showed a posting at Origin Surf, a surfing message board for freshwater surfing of the Great Lakes.

The wind was blowing, and a confirmation of the Kincardine Web Cam showed that the waves were massive. So, Saturday morning I drove north and west to the shores of Lake Huron.

And boy, was the wind ever blowing!!Waves were crashing into the pier,

and even the flag was taking a beating!

There were various surfers testing the waters, some jumping in from the pier, and others making the long paddle out to catch a wave.

at one point, they closed down the pier,

and the Po-Po showed up to talk with the surfers.

But the action continued,

even with this guy who, while wiping out on his board, seems to be reaching out and pinching the seagull passing through the shot!

Later in the day a few kite surfers joined the action on the water.

including this guy,

who smacked into the large waves produced by the wind!

More of my Photos from Kincardine can be found HERE!
