Wizard World - Day 2

Sunday morning held the promise of a great interaction between Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell, stars of the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con, in a Quantum Leap reunion. The two were scheduled to attend a Q&A with the fans, telling stories about the show. And it certainly did not disapoint!



A packed room was on hand for the two stars, as they talked Quantum Leap, and a little bit about Enterprise and Battlestar Galactica.



Scott talked about how he was amazed that an actor of Dean's stature would be on the show, but was glad he was.



The both joked that "Sam's" main contribution was a total of two words..."Oh Boy"! But Scott was able to turn that around on Dean by saying that he said it different every episode!!
Neither understood the ultimate ending of the show, and also left it to the audience to pick there own "best episode", but Scott was able to tell everyone that the final show was a "maybe" show, in that Donald Bellisario had to write it assuming that there may, in fact, be another season. He went through much the same with Magnum PI, in which Magnum was in a coma, and once the decision was made to bring the show back, Magnum recovered. Unfortunatley for QL fans, that was the end. The crew didn't even get a wrap party, the show just came to an end. Speaking of Magnum, there was discussion to try and get Tom Selleck in for a mirror shot, so Sam may have jumped into Magnum!!

and even Simpson's illustrator Phil Ortiz, who for a small fee would do a quick drawing of whoever you want, be it live, a picture, or even a cell phone image. He had a long line of people wishing to be "simpsonized"!!



What I can only describe as some "DIY" costumes including R2D2 and Han in Carbonite!

Fan Expo

It was Fan Expo weekend in Toronto, as everyone who had a costume put it on and headed down to the Metro Convention Centre.

Katee was the new Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, as well as in the Bionic Woman, 24, Nip Tuck, and will be in a new series, Longmire, on A&E

In the afternoon I joined the line to get her autograph, and decided I would pony up the the $50 to get her autograph and photo (I need a new christmas card!). I handed my camera over to my brother, got up to the table, and talked to the dude taking the cash. I said Photo please, he said when, I said now, he turned to the evil media lady to his left, who said "no photos with Katee, it's in her contract, you have to come back and have a professional do it!" I'm like WHAT the FRACK! (sorry, couldn't resist!)
Stupid, so I got my money back, and walked away without even talking with Katee :(

Fan Expo

Last year, we saw the line up to get in, and thought there was no way it would happen, so we simply photogrpahed those in the line. This year, tickets were purchased ahead of time to avoid this problem.
After walking past the suckers in line this year, we got to the front, only to be told that WE were the suckers, cause all those in the line DID have tickets! How stupid was that. We went from Bremer Blvd, up Lower Simcoe St, west on Front, and basically back south near the entrance of the CN Tower. But, that wasn't all, as once in side, we snaked into a series of S lines, before reaching the entrance, where we lined up to get in again! During all this, those that had no tickets were in a different line, which was only about 1/2 the length of the Convention Centre, and watched as they went by us, in a single line, directly to the ticket booth, and into the show! Great idea to pay ahead of time, and get screwed for doing so!

One in the show, I was amazed at how busy it was. Everyone was packed into one hall, circling the aisles, pushed by those behind you. But, in that crowd were lots of dressed up characters.

There were lots of stars attending the show, including Dean Stockwell, from BSG, Quantum Leap, and many other tv shows and movies;



Michael Dorn, who was famous for playing Worf on Star Trek, the Next Generation;



Tahmoh Penikett from BSG;



Lance Henriksen from Terminator, the Alien franchise, and X-Files/Millennium;



And Summer Glau, most famous to me for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.



There were lots of cool costumes, especially those with contacts;







Various Batman Characters;





A Big Sexy Comics girl;



Star Trek fans;



and even Jesus got a wristband to attend!



There were also lots of models around too, including the Tru Blood Girls,







Including a lovely woman providing info on BlackBerry's



And the Tron girls!



A girl we last saw at the Pillow Fight was also taking in the show!



And no Fan Show would be complete without some members from the 501st Legion.
